Girl Missing (2007)

Tonight I was updating my Netflix, and of course typed in Kate's name for the millionth time, that is how I came across this movie.

I find it odd that it isn't listed on <i>her</i> imdb and the movie has its own page and she isn't listed there either.

Anyway Netflix has the trailer for it up and a very blonde Kate is there. With a little bit of research, Teelke and I found out that her brother, Joe, is the director. :D

Netflix Summary:

Fantasy and reality ultimately collide for a man haunted by his younger sister's death in this spooky thriller starring Patrick McCartney, Adam McKay, Kate Walsh and Amy Poehler. Although Jack Pennimen's sister Lucy died in a boating mishap more than a decade ago, the event continues to consume him as an adult. While helping New York City police search for another little girl, Jack soon begins to see a young girl beside him wherever he goes.

OMG cool, I have taught you people well in how to google stalk, LMAO. OK so like Pat McCartney totally the guy she got arrested with, and OMG Amy Poehler, wow!

So like from what I can see this movie has not been released yet....sucks! And yeah you need an account.....

ETA: I have many tricks, saw it, cool looking film, totally indie though, which makes it look even cooler I think, but yeah Kate looks amazing, I think she plays the wife of the guy whose sister died.

So with a Netflix account you can watch the whole movie online.
It's only an hour & 10 minutes long.
...So, yeah, I'll be back with my opinion. :)

I seem to recall reading something online ages ago about a film Kate made with her brother called 'The Sister' or similiar, which must be this film with a different title.

Would love to see it if someone is kind enough to work out how to put it online.

I have no idea how to...yank movies from Netflix. They won't even ever let me play stuff in Firefox; it has to be in Internet Explorer. But if anyone knows how, I'll do it!

That was an...interesting film?
I don't know what to say about it. Kate plays the sister of the main character, their other sister had died earlier. Honestly, I got bored and started skipping around so I don't really know what happened in between. It was one of those indie films where what really happened is kind of confusing...I don't know if anyone's seen <i>Stay</i> with Ewan McGregor? But it kind of reminded me of that.

Also, the main character is played by Patrick McCartney, which, isn't he the guy from the Ellen jail story? lol

Yeah Amanda, it is the guys from Ellen jail story, and yeah OK so I get to the part where I have to play it, and then it gives me some error, I hate using internet explorer, hate! I masked my IP so it looked like I was in the USA, but ummm yeah Internet Explorer is being a spase....oh wells doesn't sound worth it....

Was she in it a lot?

Also I doubt doubt you can rip the movie from Netflix, like I can't even rip the trailer.....

Mmm she wasn't in it that much. Like 3-4 scenes and then over the phone a couple of times. Her scenes were entertaining though. She was kind of a workaholic and always on her cell phone (which was amusing in itself; it was like my first cell phone from back in the day), and she gave the brother some crazy shrink's card. And this was actually made in 2004, I'm not sure why it says 2007 on the page...maybe that's when the DVD came out? Umm...what else, there were a bunch of Walshes and also KW's mom and stepdad thanked in the credits which amused me.

And yeah, Netflix is really tight with the security on their stuff. Having to watch stuff in IE drives me crazy.

I would love to see it, but sounds like it's too difficult if youur not from the US... to bad the ripping doesn't work with that page...

I think I know how you can rip it but sadly I can´t rip it because I don´t have netflix and I am not from the US either.
But isn´t there a problem where you can "record" things that happen on your computer? I saw a lot of youtube vids where people describe things with that program when they show things on photoshop or something.
I had such a program once for free but I am on my sucks laptop so I don´t have it here.

Ohhh I see! Well since I have a Mac I used Apple+shift+4 and then you can just take a selection of whatever you want from the screen. It comes in really handy, actually. :)

It'll let me take caps of the trailer but I guess the embedding for the movie is different, so when I try to cap it, it looks like it works but the box on the cap where the movie was turns black. So...yeah, I can't figure out how to get around it.

It wasn't! I can tell you that much...
I have tried on every computer I own and I guess it's the way the video is embedded; I can't do anything with it.

But it wasn't her in the bed.
She was in like 3-4 scenes:
-the restaurant scene in the screencaps where her brother tells her what's going on and she gets a phone call which was amusing
-the kitchen scene in the screencaps where they're fighting about his fiance who is also her best friend
-a hilarious intervention scene at the end where she shows up with Amy Poehler and Will Arnett and some other random people
And then you hear her voice over the phone a couple times.
