So, I caught this episode today. (Thanks for the heads up, imdb!)
Also, according to imdb, it's from 1996. lol and it is 90's tastic.
I didn't upload the whole episode, just the Kate parts.
The background story is that the detectives suspect her neighbor of murder and are staking out his house and watching from her living room.

I know, right.
There were [believe it or not] some worse ones in other parts of the show.
Also, don't you love the first female detective's outfit at the very beginning? wtf is that?

Bahahaha, wow. That made me laugh more than I think I was supposed to (if at all!). The 90s were certainly an interesting decade, oui? Kate's voice was weird too. Glad to see she's improved since then! Thanks Amanda!

Hahaha! Thanks for uploading! I feel kinda bad, but I'm dying laughing over here. It's just interesting to see how tv has drastically changed over the last decade.
The camera angles kinda sucked. No. They did. :p But you gotta love the 90s right?! Kate sounds so serious too! It seems like either her voice was deeper (I always thought it was more high pitched when she was younger), or she was just trying to sound like that. Anyway, her acting has definitely improved over the years. :)
Did anyone else get the super cheesy soap vibe from this? Or have a flash back to the Grey's flashback and poison oak scene when she was crying? :p

I thought of the first Grey's scene whene she came in the house the first time:D
Thank you for uploading Amanda!!!
About her voice... I think it's kinda similar to the voice on 3below0
And yeah her acting definitely improved over the years!
I'm curious about what happens when they both left? Do the detectives search their house?

Nahhh. Nothing happens; the neighbor comes home & the detectives arrest him.
I kept thinking the whole episode that she and her husband had something to do with it, cause the husband acted like a real creeper at the beginning and then her whole freakout about testifying. But no...just a weird show.

haha that's exactly what I though, too!
Indicates how different the shows of todays times are from those in the 90s and what different expectations we have now :D

It's basically like a really bad version of Law & Order...like almost the same but with not-so-great acting and a not-so-surprising plotline. I think it actually is connected to L&O in some way, because the character Munch has been on like every L&O series in existence.

Homicide: Life on the Street is from the same people who did The Wire (police/gangsta show). Instead of solving things and crimes over one episode, they usually played them out over several episodes or even a whole season.
Basically, they tried to make it realistic by showing the job of a homicide detective as being really repetitive and with no reward. It's a similar premise as on The Wire which finished last year.
I really wouldn't have expected Kate to be in a show like this even as a guest star, it shows she adapts really well to any situation or script because PP and GA are about as far from this as you can possibly get!
