^ Word, although she got off lucky, because she had her wedding at sunset, so they only got a few helicopter shots before the sun went down, so yeah good thing she got married so late in the afternoon.

And Tiff that is why I love those first vids, cuz despite the camera in her face, she managed to say goodbye to her friend like a "normal" person.....sometimes I think I forget that she is just like us, and then I see stuff like that, and it's a wake up call for me. She keeps her poise despite all of the attention, kudos to her ;)

Those jeans are God awful, and yes that is Kate Flannery from the Office, no clue what she was doing there at the pre-school, and I haven't seen any pics as yet.

I don't think she was pissed per say, she was just ignoring them, I mean why would she talk to them anyways? She does not have a reason to, well except for when they were blocking the road in front of her house so her friends couldn't park there. Plus this is x17 we are talking about here, the lowest of the lowest when it comes to pap agencies, those guys are brutal I would hate for them to begin following her on a regular basis.

The school Kate was at is a state run pre school for minority kids who cannot afford private pre school, I highly doubt any potential Young Walshes would qualify for a spot there :p

Haha, I feel the same way. It makes me laugh cause, duh Kate, you can't just park there and get away with it! But if she's not used to the car and its massiveness, then she may have HAD to park there.

*shrugs* I don't think Kate's bit is scary, they didn't really crowd her, and they let her drive off when she was ready to leave. It was a CAA party (for those who don't know CAA, aka the Creative Artists Agency, is the biggest talent agency in Hollywood) so when you have people like Tom Cruise, Lindsay Lohan, Reese Witherspoon etc (all bigger names than Kate) going, you only know that everyone and their dog is going to be there taking pictures. Looking at how they acted over some of the other celebs in those vids, I think Kate came out relatively unscathed.

P.S. she smiled for them when she got there.

Word. Kate knows how to handle them, but they make her flustered, and once the questions started you see her becoming more and more flustered. Keisha was just like "slap a bitch", and got them out of there.

Oh and they were walking from Katsuya to Beso, but kind of got lost along the way it would appear.

ETA: Not even she could get what all the fuss was about. I particularly like the part when Keisha is like let's hurry up and Jay Walk and then the paps kind of block their path to the street and Kate is like, "Jesus Christ, it must be a slow night". Newsflash Kate, you are famous enough for them to harass you, although I have never seen them harass her like this with all the stupid questions.

First off, the hand hiding face bit in the video was a picture, not actual video footage. Second off, clearly you have not checked the gallery in like the last 5 months. 2009 candids already has 53 albums and the year is not even half over. Kate is pretty damn famous, and the paparazzi are just one of the things which she has to deal with.

Honestly, here is what I don't get, the double standards in this thread. Tis true that they do not make a vid every time they take her picture, in comparison to some other celebs she really does not get videoed all that often, but how are the videos any different than all the pictures we get on an almost daily basis? To generalise some of the comments in this thread, oh poor Kate I can't believe the paps videod her when she got lost, oh poor Kate the paps are so mean, oh poor Kate this, that, the next and the third. Yet in the pictures thread it is all OMG I love her shoes OMG! And the best part is the comments are made about the same set of pictures which were taken when the video was made.

Hate to say it, but if it was not for the paps you people would not get to gush about her shoes. I am not gonna lie I love getting tons of pics and I like watching the videos too, and I am damn sure none of you could say that you do not love it too. Sure the paps cross lines at times, but invasive pictures of Kate are rare, and half of the time do not even come out on the blogs or the fansites (and trust me I have seen some super invasive pictures on a pap agency site, but I would never post them in the gallery).

As was said by Catherine, Kate is usually always smiling in pap pics, and she even converses with them (this could be seen as encouraging it). Other times she just ignores them, and then sometimes when she is having a crappy day she makes annoyed death glares at them, but that's rare. Kate needs the paps more than they need her, it proves her pictures sell, or not they would not follow her. The day they stop following her is the day you know she is no longer famous, and this day shall come, for sure, but till then I am going to continue loving all the pap pics (minus the invasive ones) and the videos too.

So yeah maybe someone could actually try and explain to me the difference between the videos and the pics, because I am sure as hell not seeing it.

Anyways that's JMO, not trying to offend anyone.

^ Word. Kate does not mind the paps that much most of the time, IMO she encourages it a lot by smiling and conversing with them. It is such a double standard to like one and not the other based on privacy, I agree the lost video was really funny but Kate was clearly annoyed by the paps when they spoke to her, so how is that any better than this, just because we found it funny? I totally agree you can't pick and chose which you prefer, when it comes down to it there is very little difference between a set of pics and a video. I personally like both although I prefer pics but not due to privacy sometimes I find videos more boring othertimes though I prefer the vids, but I very rarely feel sorry for any celebrity in pictures or videos and that includes Kate. If they are super invasive then yeah, but the rest of them its fair game, its their job and I always look so who I am to say there is something wrong with them.

I agree with you, I mean sure I love looking at pics and vids and sure it's great for Kate because it means people want to see her but still I think it is hard for a celebrity cause there are moments when you'd prefer being left alone. When people have a crappy day and get stressed out you feel sorry for them, at least I do. I love the candids, really I do, but at the third set in three days I do feel bad for her. Like Grace said: really, I could do without them. And sure you wanna take pics of her going to the nail salon, but do you have to leave the camera rolling all the way through? I can't imagine 'Walsh hides from evasive paps' pics sell all that well. This is what I am not getting, she does have good pap free time, they don't live in her house, they don't snap her sleeping in her bed, or sitting down watching TV, they don't snap her when she goes over to her friends houses, or when she goes out for dinner (and she does that quite a bit), so they aren't ALWAYS following her, yes they follow her a lot more now than in the past, especially post divorce, but I think Kate seriously kind of gets it. And sometimes she stages the pictures too (very common occurrence in the pap celeb world), can anyone say dogs and beach? Or the first time she ever drove the Caddie? So yeah there is also that........Once she is on a public sidewalk or somewhere where the paps are obviously not trespassing to get a picture then it is fair game. A lot of the times the paps do not swarm the person, well not normally Kate, a lot of the times they are not standing right up under her to get the shot, the picture is just zoomed in so that is why it looks like that, but in most of the videos you can see how they keep their distance, for instance the lost video, we got tons of pics from that day, yet I did not see ONE pap in that video, not one, where were they? They were there somewhere, just couldn't see them. The paps usually are pretty respectful, especially if you show them respect back, the celebs who fight them are the ones they annoy more just to provoke a reaction out of them, best thing to do is smile let them get their shot and then they will move on. Which is what Kate does.

It is kind of hard to explain, but I will give it a shot. OK sometimes you have paps that work for certain agencies (big ones are Bauer Griffin, x17, Splashnews, WENN, INF, Fame etc). Sometimes the agency will ask them to work on a specific person (like when you get a tip off), but generally they spread them out all over the celeb hotspots in LA, and you work like an area or whatever. Some of them also work freelance, and will then sell their pics to whatever agency will give them the most money. The highest paying pics are exclusives, meaning only that one agency has the shots and no other one, you can generally get more money for exclusives. A lot of the time though it will be more than one agency (non-exclusives, which a lot of Kate pics are, kinda) so the pics are not worth as much.

OK so that much I know as fact, this part is now me kinda assuming that this is how it works. When the pictures are sold the agency takes majority of the money, and the pap who took the pics takes a smaller share, the weeklies decide which pics they will put in their issue, and as far as I know the agency only makes money if the picture is published, although I think the mags pay them like a monthly fee as well maybe, not sure. Go read People or US Weekly and you will see the credit to the particular agency/photographer there on the sideline, in really small print :p But I also think they make money selling them to third party agencies who redistribute them in other markets. Again, not sure. Oh and they also make money from the blogs as well, like JJ and stuff. As for the fansites, well we are forced to have to resort to getting pictures through other means, and the golden rule is you never talk about how. Just know we do not pay, and it is a lot of hard work, so consider yourselves lucky that you just get to look at the pretty pictures.

When have they ever asked her that? And like I said above they do leave space for her to walk. In all fairness to the paps it is not as if Kate Walsh is like hi guys so today I am going to the doctors office at 10, then out for lunch, then maybe going to the nail salon so just meet me at lunch and skip the doctor's office bokay? Uh no. They are usually blindly following her, unless they get a tip off that she will be at x restaurant or has an appointment at x, which happens a lot, but when they set out following her from her house they have no clue where the heck she is going. Plus notice, I don't explicitly label all of the candids, a lot of the times I just simply say "out in LA". And it is not because I do not know, it is because I do not care to label them "Going to al-anon". The blogs do that though, and that is their business.

They way I see it is, no one tells anyone on here to look at the pictures or watch the vids, if you feel that way about them then just don't look at them. I am not going to stop putting non invasive candids in the gallery, because a lot of people like to look at them, the view counts in the gallery speak for themselves. And as I said above, the fansites do not pay for pictures, the agencies make nothing off of us, in actual fact we could all get sued for copyright by every last one of them, and the agencies know about the fansites for sure, but they just choose to ignore us 9 times out of 10 (I know some people who have gotten cease and desists from certain agencies regarding certain pics, which basically means take down this set of pics or we will sue you). So me not putting a set of pics in the gallery will not have an impact on how much she gets followed. Now if the magazines, blogs etc stop publishing/posting Kate pics that will have a direct impact for sure, but I do not see this happening anytime soon.

Maybe I am a total bitch, but I don't generally feel sorry for her at all, if you want to be famous then the paps is just something that comes with it. This is why I personally would never want to be famous, but not everyone feels that way.

Would like it if they would censor themselves at times. Ofcourse they follow blindly, but when you realise it's an Al-Anon meeting you're at, don't take pics, especially not with other Anon people in it, and for Gods sake don't post them under that title (once again: no blame on you here :)) Give her a little privacy when you see her going in and out medical buildings, that is: don't let all the world know. And they did ask her if she was dating, in February, leaving the Katsuya restaurant (okay, 3 months, had to look that up).

I just doubt Kate ever set out to be Hollywood famous; she wants to act and this is what comes with it. The Al Anon stuff to be honest is to do with the blogs that post not the paps. The paps are going to take the pics and Kate was pictured at Al Anon a fair few times before it was ever known, it was mentioned on JJ once but he took it down from then on I always knew when she was at 'church' thats where she was but until the divorce the majority of people didnt know that, many of them on this site too so thats actually very little to do with the paps in the long run to be fair to them, they are only the messenger in that case. It's the blogs and magazines that report it and make rumours from it.

Kate knew what she was getting into as do all celebrities. It's not like it is a new phenomena. I don't feel sorry for her at all, when you make a decision to act or sing or whatever you make this decision that this might happen to you one day. Otherwise you are incredibly naive and Kate is not, she knew what she was getting into. I feel sorry for celebs when things are pictured such as Heath Ledgers body being removed from his flat, that is over a line, but Kate has never been someone I have felt sorry for paps wise. Have you seen the money and free stuff they get? Thats not a rough deal. They buy into it. Kate especially, she attends lots of events, you can't have it both ways. If you shy away entirely from the press, then maybe you have more of a right to complain, but you can't pick and choose and there is no way Kate doesn't know that.

Actors are so exposed. It's hard to deal with. Nothing prepares you for it, and part of the job becomes keeping perspective.

I'm not sure if it balances out. Would depend on the person perhaps. She goes on to say how she does understand, but this remains. You might know what you may get yourself into, but I doubt you can really ever know.

About Al Anon--I know what this is and I know what AA is (although we don't have them here in Hong Kong), I don't see any problem with going to Al Anon meetings. Maybe the only problem is that some people would misunderstand that she is attending AA meetings and further assume she has addiction to alcohol?
